Submitted by Ms. Tammy!Melvin the Magnificent Molar by Julia Cook & Laura Jana, MD. Melvin the molar walks children through the importance of taking good care of their teeth. He starts off by showing them a chart of their teeth explaining where the different teeth are located and what their jobs are. Melvin explains that taking care of your baby teeth is good practice for when your permanent teeth move in. In the morning, the amazing toothbrush, along with a dab of toothpaste, shows up to get the sleeping scummies off your teeth. Melvin reminds us that if we forget to brush the back teeth, the scummies will turn them green. Children are shown what to expect when they visit the friendly dentist. Children learn the tooth fairy and the dentist are very good friends. In the end, Melvin the molar finally gets his dream come true when he has fallen out and his owner writes a letter to the tooth fairy. The very last page lists “Melvin’s Top 10 Tips for Happy, Healthy Teeth.” See this book listed in our catalog
