In Martha Doesn’t Say Sorry by Samantha Berger, we meet Martha. Martha can do lots of great things. She makes presents, shares her snacks, and reads stories. What Martha doesn’t do is say she’s sorry. Ever. Sometimes Martha does things that aren’t very nice. She sticks her tongue out, and throws things, but she never, ever says she’s sorry. One day, Martha does some really bad things. She spills batter on her mother, paints her father’s back red, and makes so much noise that her baby brother can’t take his nap. After her time out, Martha wants one of the cookies her mother just made. She wants a piggy back ride from her father. She wants a hug from her baby brother. She soon learns that cookies, piggy back rides, and hugs aren’t given to little girls who can’t say they’re sorry. Find out if Martha decides to give apologizing a try.
