What’s the Time, Grandma Wolf?, written and illustrated by Ken Brown, tells the story of a group of forest friends who become curiouser and curiouser about a new wolf who has moved into their wooded neighborhood. Each critter takes a turn asking “What’s the time, Grandma Wolf?” as they creep closer and closer to Grandma Wolf’s door. Suspense builds as each question is answered. Grandma Wolf’s teeth look sharp and scary when it’s time to brush her teeth. Her eyes look wicked when it’s time to scrub the stew pot. The axe blade looks dreadfully sharp when it’s time to chop wood for a fire. The tension grows and grows as the forest critters inch closer and closer to the stew pot with every question. What will become of them? The beautifully done illustrations help build the suspense as the story climbs to its surprising end. Children and grown ups alike will be sitting on the edge of their seats wondering what will become of these furry little friends. See this book listed in our catalog
