In Dexter Bexley and the Big Blue Beastie, by Joel Stewart, we meet a little boy named Dexter. As he’s riding along on his scooter one day, he scoots himself right into a big blue beastie! The big blue beastie says “I’m big and I’m bored. I should probably eat you up.” Dexter Bexley has to do some pretty quick thinking to keep from being eaten up! Dexter has the two of them scooting around, then scooting around while delivering flowers. They even become detectives and solve some pretty tough mysteries. After each adventure, the beastie grows bored again and is ready to eat Dexter up. Maybe feeding the big blue beastie the biggest, gooiest, tastiest yogurt feast of all time will keep him from wanting to eat Dexter up. No, it just wasn’t quite enough. When Dexter finally runs out of ideas, he sits down and tells the beastie that it may be time for the beastie to eat him up. Find out if the big blue beastie is ready to eat Dexter up, or if he’s no longer bored because he’s found a new friend… See this book listed in our catalog
