What do you do when a bossy cat tells you to sit on a log? Well, if you’re a frog who doesn’t want to sit on a splintery log, you start asking why you can’t sit on something a little more comfortable. In Frog on a Log? by Kes Gray and Jim Field, the frog would rather sit on a mat, or a sofa, or a chair. Mats, sofas, and chairs are for cats, gophers, and hares. Frogs sit on logs, parrots sit on carrots, storks sit on forks, and lions sit on irons. When the frog points out that some of these things sound very comfortable, the cat declares “It’s not about being comfortable, it’s about doing the right thing.” This fun book is filled with countless animals and their respective seats. The illustrations are bold and whimsical, and the story begs the readers to come up with even more things that even more animals must sit on. See this book listed in our catalog
