In My Garden by Kevin Henkes a little girl and her mother work in the garden. As they are working the little girl starts to imagine what it would be like if she had her very own garden. In her garden things would be quite different. Inside this little girl’s imagination we see a very unusual garden where flowers keep blooming and never die. We see flowers that change color and grow right back when pulled. In her garden the rabbits would be chocolate and seashells would grow. She could plant jelly beans and grow a jelly bean tree. She would also grow tomatoes the size of beach balls and invisible carrots because she doesn’t like carrots. Her garden sounds absolutely amazing! When she is done dreaming about her garden she plants a seashell. After all, you never know what might happen… See this book listed in our catalog
