Have you ever wondered what happened to all the dinosaurs? Dinosaurs Love Underpants by Claire Freeman and Ben Cort solves the mystery… the Mighty Underpants War! Long ago, cavemen felt embarrassed about being nude, so they made underpants. When the T. Rex saw the underpants, he wanted some right away. He tried to steal the caveman’s underpants, but they didn’t quite fit. The Triceratops, Styracosauras, Stegosaurus, and the Diplodocus all wanted underpants too, so they stole the cavemen’s underpants, and tried to make some of their own. But no matter what they did, there just wasn’t enough underpants for all the dinos to enjoy. The dinos were undies crazy, and the cavemen didn’t know what to do. Until one night, the dinos fought, and tugged, and tore the underpants to bits, and in all the crazy fighting all the dinos were wiped out! Can you believe that underpants saved mankind? This book makes me giggle every time I read it. Its adorable rhymes, colorful illustrations, and absurd explanation of how dinosaurs became extinct is a great read that tickles your funny bone no matter how old you are! Dinosaurs?!
Submitted by Ms. Sue!
Dinosaurs?! by Lila Prap is the story of how chickens may be descended from dinosaurs! Or so the chickens in this story believe. After all, some dinosaurs did have beaks. They also laid eggs. The chickens, chicks, and roosters ask some pretty good questions about dinosaurs like: “Why didn’t they call them Terrible Chickens if they were our ancestors?” and “If these rhinos had beaks, did they lay eggs too, like chickens?” These questions are answered, and many more dinosaur facts are given, throughout the book, in response to the chickens’ comments and wisecracks. Each page is brightly illustrated with a dinosaur picture and information, surrounded by little chicken pictures that are bubbled with silly questions and answered with interesting facts. Enjoy Dinosaurs?! by Lila Prap, author and illustrator, who loves to draw animals! See this book listed in our catalog

Dinosaur Woods: Can Seven Clever Critters Save Their Forest Home? by George McClements will appeal to all the environmentally aware children (0r their parents). It’s about a crew of woodland creatures whose home is soon to be destroyed for the sake of building a plastic tree factory. They try to speak up to those responsible, but of course are not understood. Finally they are inspired to build a life-like semi-robotic dinosaur! No one will mess with their forest if they see a terrifying dinosaur lives there! The plan backfires, when even more humans show up, now to study the dinosaur. What will happen when it’s revealed that the dino is a fake being run by a seemingly ordinary fox, bear, snake, bird, deer, and pair of rabbits? You’ll have to read to find out!
